What Is Old Can Be New Again

The Tasmanian Government’s Office of the Co-ordinator General is offering low interest loans for eligible tourist accommodation businesses operating in Tasmania. The Tourist Accommodation Refurbishment Loan Scheme (TARLS) aims to improve the standard of tourist accommodation in Australia by making low-interest loans available to businesses that may not otherwise be able to afford refurbishments that will allow them to present better experiences for visitors to the state.

It’s a great opportunity for business owners considering refurbishing their property, and a great way to improve the way visitors see Tasmania’s hospitality and tourism sectors
— Greg Astell, Deputy CEO | Tasmanian Hospitality Association

The TARLS is part of the T21 Tasmanian Visitor Economy Strategy, a Tasmanian Government initiative with the goal of increasing Tasmania’s annual visitor count to 1.5 million by 2020. The strategy acknowledges the strength of Tasmania as a brand, and the TARLS is way T21 plans to build on Tasmania’s brand and provide visitors with great experiences.
